It was a little before sunrise, the sky was tinted shades of lavender, blue, and pink with the dark olive colored trees softly swaying to the wind. I normally didn't mind sleeping outside….however waking up this morning was a complete drag. I was all snuggled up in my tent, with Growlithe curled up behind me, dreaming about when I became the world's most renowned Pokemon coordinator. It all seemed so real! The lights! The people! Me dressed elaborately in my coordinator's uniform! Standing in the center of the stadium with spotlights on me, waving and bowing to the crowd while Growlithe, Eevee, and Braviary stand tall and proud. I was about to receive my final ribbon from the mayor of the Sinnoh region when then,
"Hey! Come on! Wake up you lazy bums! We're gonna be late!" Snap! The dream zapped away.
"Grrrrr…" Growlithe and I grumbled in unison. I leaped out of my sleeping bag, forcefully unzipping the tent doors and glared outside,
"Josh…." I mumbled in a low frustrated tone. A tall and lean brunette was re-kindling our fire and had a basket of rice and berries for breakfast. He turned to me with that smug and eager expression of his,
"Hey Christina! Woah!" He exclaimed walking towards me scratching his head,
"Jeez rough night? You look like something the Delcatti dragged in." Growlithe looked all around thinking there was a Delcatti for it to chase around. I shot a sharp glare back at Josh.
"Eh-heh-heh sorry…bad joke." He smiled sheepishly,
"You think?" I retorted groggily. I hung my head low tired and still half asleep. To the left of my tent there was a little puddle of water which acted as a natural mirror. Boy he wasn't kidding. I was a mess. Awesome dream, but not so awesome bed head.
"Hey come on! Why the long face? What?! Did I interrupt a 'special dream'-?" BAM!! Without even looking up I popped Josh right under his chin,
"As a matter of fact you did!" I replied curtly looking up at him, he stumbled back a foot and gripped at his chin,
"Ow! Jeez! What'd you do that for!?" He looked at me with emerald eyes sincerely puzzled and completely clueless. How could someone be so oblivious? Everyone knows you never ever ever disturb a girl's slumber,
"It's one thing to be excited about something and wanting to share it with others, it's another when you're idiocy and inconsideration disturbs a young maiden's slumber." I replied eyes closed and arms folded, he looked back at me with a blank expression,
"Young maiden? Pfft, you sure as heck ain't one!" I flipped a glare back at him my fist cracked and ready to feed him a knuckle sandwich,
"You say something?!"
"Not at all princess!"
"Princess?! Hah! If I am of royalty and should be treated as such!"
"Yeah you're a royal pain in the butt!"
"Grrrrrrrr!!!!" A bolt of lighting could be seen between our glares. Behind us Zach unzipped his tent doors, rubbing his eyes with his hand and then his glasses with his pajama shirt. His Snivy yawned and looked out with that annoyed D.G.A.F. expression on its face,
"Guys…what's going on here?" Zach asked sleepily. Josh and I turned to him pointing at each other,
"He/She started it! I did not! Meeeeeeeeh! Hmph!" We shouted folding our arms with our backs turned,
"Uhhhh….okay?" Zach replied nervously. Zach was the youngest member of our team and the most knowledgeable about Pokemon, in ways that I could only dream of. He had short blonde hair with bangs, light skin, and light blue eyes. He carries his little red Pokedex with him all the time, scanning various kinds of Pokemon wherever we went. Zach liked to study them, Josh liked to catch them. Although Josh is technically the eldest in the group he certainly never acted like it, not to me anyways. Josh was nineteen and was the tallest out of the three of us. His skin was a little tanner then Zach's, and had emerald eyes which seemed to gleam with pride every time he caught a Pokemon or won a battle. He had soft dark chocolate hair swept to his right side and wore a teal tank top with a tiny Oshawott shell on the left side of his chest. Oshawott was to Josh as Growlithe was to me, a best friend and most loyal companion. I crawled back into my tent while Zach was feeding the Pokemon their breakfast. As I was brushing my medium long blonde hair I recalled the day that I met Josh and Zach. Growlithe and I were touring the Unova region at the time and we ran into the two boys at the Unova Pokequarium, it still baffles me how a small name could define such a large city! And it's a little funny now to try and picture Josh as a tank cleaner… I slipped into my white tank top and adjusted the straps and the position of the shirt. Growlithe poked its little head back into my tent signaling me to hurry up,
"Jeez now you're rushing me too?" I laughed. I waved back to Growlithe and it nodded and left me to finish up. I smirked at the tent door and flashed back to the day at the Pokequarium. Apparently a Walrein was hit by a Tentacruel's poison sting and needed immediate help; I recalled blinking rapidly at the soaking wet Josh and an Oshawott tending to the injured Pokemon. Thinking back on it I was glad to have gotten those extra Pokeballs when I left the Kanto region, without them I don't know what would have happened to the Walrein. Since then Josh, Zach, and I have been a trio each of us with a goal. Zach wanted to be top breeder, Josh wanted to be a master trainer, and I wanted to be top coordinator. I zipped up my boots and walked out of the tent with my knapsack slung over my right shoulder. I watched the boys tear down the fort while I snatched my breakfast from the frying pan.
"He's such a pain…"I said in my head glancing from the food then back at him and felt a slight flush fill my cheeks,
"But…I can't complain about his cooking." By the time we finished packing up the campsite, the sun had risen from behind the mountains turning the whole forest into a bright summer yellow. I held my hand over my eyes to shield them from the powerful light. Josh chuckled to himself and leaped onto a boulder a few feet in front of us with the sun shining behind him, creating an amazing silhouette.
"Today's the day guys! Today we start our term at Acedemia Pokemon! There's gonna be a lot of competition there, and we have no idea who or what we will run into!" He grinned proudly and clenched his fist and brought it by his chest,
"But that's the way I like it! So, let's get going! Better we get there early to beat the crowd! Haha!" He leaped off the boulder and landed perfectly on his feet. I smiled and nodded my head. I clenched my fist too, I have a dream to fulfill and I won't stop until I get there! I looked to my right and I could see Zach and Snivy fired up too,
"That's Josh for ya, he always knows how to fire up a crowd." I thought to myself.
"All right! Let's go!" We shouted together. With no other words we darted off into the city.
About an hour had passed by since we started off. We managed to reach the city and all of us had our pokemon walking with each other. Growlithe to my left, Oshawott on Josh's shoulder, and Snivy trotting along with its arms folded.
"Hey Christina!" Josh called out.
"Yeah?" I asked him.
"How's your Braviary and Eevee doin'?" Oshawott's ears twitched a little as it looked at me. I blinked for a sec and smirked.
"Zach why don't you give Josh the update?" I asked.
"Who-wha-what?" he stammered darting his glance between me and Josh.
"Jeez, kid dontcha ever come up for air from that thing?" Josh asked smugly ruffling Zach's hair. Zach lamely shoo-ed Josh's hand away and looked up at the two of us,
"Sorry guys, I was just looking over the different forms of Eevee."
"Really?" Josh and I asked looking at each other.
"Yeah! It has all kinds of forms, its original Eevee form, Vaporeon, Flareon, Espion, Jolteon, Leafeon, the list is huge!" Zach exclaimed completely fascinated with all of the evolved forms. I leaned in to look at Zach's Pokedex and wondered for a moment if I should evolve Eevee or keep it small and fluffy?
"That's it!" Josh shouted. He stopped and turned around to face me,
"Christina, you should evolve Eevee into Vaporeon!" He grinned. I blinked for a second and glanced at my Eevee's Pokeball,
"I dunno…"I replied,
"I mean now that I've seen what kinds of forms it could take I wanna see what I could do with it. At the same time…" I closed my eyes and clutched the Pokeball to my chest caressing it and moving side to side pouting,
"I dun wanna loose the cuteness! I am a coordinator after all, and it's so fluffy!" Josh placed his hand on the Pokeball and stopped me,
"You should definitely evolve it! The fact that you're gonna go into the Academy with a freshly evolved Braviary is impressive, but would be even cooler is if you had Eevee turn into a Vaporeon! That way you have a well rounded team in all areas, water, air, and fire!" I looked at him and smiled a little, this was actually unexpected. And to be honest I didn't even consider how having water Pokemon could actually come in handy. Josh pulled away for a sec and smirked knowing I could see his point,
"That and water-type Pokemon are the best!" Oshawott ginned along with him.
"Jeez you two." I thought to myself but then I folded my arms and walked a little further than him,
"Okay yeah but we would need a water stone for it to evolve genius. You got one on you?"
"Oh…right…uh no…" He replied letting his head sink, Growlithe snickered a little.
"Actually, I have a water stone!" Zach piped up smiling. He stopped and took off his knapsack and rummaged through taking out a shiny blue orb,
"Here! You can use this to evolve Eevee. Since Josh knows all about water-types he can help you train it." I gently took the water stone from Zach's hands as he zipped up his knapsack. I looked back at him surprised,
"How did you get this?" I asked. He smiled and slung his knapsack back on and said,
"I'm a breeder. I always carry different stones and pokemon food with me." Snivy tapped its foot on the ground waiting as if to say he wanted us to hurry up. I clenched the water stone and handed it to Josh,
"All right let's do this," I took Eevee's ball and tossed it into the air,
"Evee come on out!" With a flash and a loud pop noise Eevee landed onto the ground with a soft pat and turned to look at me,
"Eevee?" it asked me with its head tilted. I knelt down beside it and looked at it sweetly,
"It's okay, it turns out Zach has a water stone! And your kind of Pokemon can evolve into different types. Eevee is it okay if we turn you into a Vaporeon?" I asked it ruffling its little brown head and stroking its ears,
"Eevee?..." it cried out. It looked so confused and kind of sad, I wondered if it was worried that I would love Vaporeon more than it?
"Haha no! I'll never forget you, whether you're Eevee or Vaporeon I'll still love the old you." I laughed hugging the little brown and bushy Pokemon. It smiled back and nodded its head,
"That's a yes!" I said turning to Josh and Zach. Both of them grinned,
"Okay," Josh said,
"Let's do this!" Zach held the water stone by eevee and a flash of blue lights enveloped the little guy. Glow after glow after glow until the form of the small little brown Pokemon transformed into Vaporeon! All three of us smiled,
"Wow!!" I shouted in awe of my new Pokemon, the newborn Vaporeon looked at me curiously and I smiled at it. Immediately it smiled back,
"Okay Vaporeon welcome to the group!" Josh grinned; Oshawott hopped off his shoulder and looked at Vaporeon,
"What's Oshawott doing?" I asked Josh. He shrugged at me,
"I think it's trying to talk to Vaporeon and telling it where we're headed." I blinked a little, sometimes I felt that Josh gave Pokemon a little too much credit…but then again who was I to talk? I just asked an Eevee if it felt it was okay to evolve it. No less than a few moments later Vaporeon made its way towards me as if to say it was ready to go,
"You ready?" I asked it snatching the Pokeball, it nodded.
"Okay Vaporeon!" A beam of red light snatched the water Pokemon back into Eevee's old Pokeball.  I picked up the pokeball and after a few flashes the ball stopped shaking.
"Phew…Okay I think we should get a move on. Haha Snivy's getting impatient." I nodded towards the little green Pokemon walking on ahead of us.
"Huh?" Zach asked looking up from his Pokedex,
"Hey! Snivy get back here!" He called after it running. Without a word the rest of us ran too.
"I can see the Academy!" Zach cried out. Josh and I looked down at the humongous building below the city street hill. Josh grinned and started bolting off with Oshawott clinging onto his shoulder for dear life,
"LAST ONE THERE'S A JIGGLY PUFF!!" He called out.
"YEAH AND THE FIRST ONE THERE GETS TO LISTEN TO IT!" I shouted back running after him. Zach popped his head up from his Pokedex and began darting after us,
"Hey guys! Not cool! Wait for me!"
We all halted at the bottom of the hill gasping for air,
"You *huff* idiot *huff* quit *huff* thinking with your feet and use your head once *huff* in awhile…" I chastised Josh. He looked back at me bent over then leaned back against the gate,
"Heh *huff* it got *huff* your adrenaline going *huff* huh? We need *huff* to be psyched up *huff* for this!"
"Yeah, yeah whatever…" I said rolling my eyes. All three of us looked inside the gate at the huge and shiny campus. It was beautiful! And I couldn't believe all three of us were going to attend here! We were escorted by a few members of the Academy staff into the main hall where we were fitted for our uniforms and submitted our applications,
"Wait!" One of the ladies at the counters called out,
"You three! Why are your Pokemon out of their Pokeballs?" The three of us looked at each other confused,
"We always do this m'am." I replied indifferently not really seeing the issue. Josh looked at her with a raised eyebrow,
"Yeah, I always keep Oshawott out and with me."
"Same with me and Snivy." Zach nodded. The escort whispered to the lady at the counter and she sighed,
"Ah, you three aren't from around here huh? Well considering it's your first year here I'll give you a warning. School rules state that all Pokemon must remain in their Pokeballs during school hours except when a class calls for the Pokemon to be released; an example would be in a battle class." I could see in my peripheral vision Josh getting stoked at the sound of a battle class. Reluctantly we nodded and had all of our Pokemon returned to their Pokeballs.
"Sorry Growlithe, it's only for a short while." I whispered into the Pokeball. All three of us were admitted into the Articuno Blue class of the Academy, I suppose Articuno students would be freshman at a high-school; meaning us. The stronger students were in the upper Zapados Yellow and Moltress Red classes. When I came out of the dressing room the blue uniform didn't look half bad on me. I liked the style a lot and it fit my personality well. The blue and white long gloves, the white shirt, dark blue leggings, and light aqua blue top. The boys' color scheme was the same except they had white slacks and an aqua blue jacket. Josh and Zach came out of the dressing room examining their outfits.
"Jeez I'm not used to wearing things like this…" Josh mumbled tugging at his collar,
"I think he feels like he's gonna choke if he wears collars." I whispered aside to one of the uniform fitters,
"Well," she said,
"He can un-zip it if he feels more comfortable with that. But he needs to wear the jacket at all times during school hours." I smiled nodding and turned to him,
"You hear that? You can un-zip the collar Josh!" He immediately un-zipped it and gasped for air,
"Thank you…" I laughed at Josh's face trying not to roll on the ground. Zach turned around again and again in the mirror,
"Hey this uniform feels pretty nice!" He smiled adjusting his glasses.
"Well look at you all spiffy!" Josh teased him mashing Zach's head around. Zach grinned and started to ruffle Josh's hair too.
"Okay you three," the lady in the front came into the room with a pad and three papers,
"Here are your seats and the directions to the auditorium. In a few minutes they're going to start with the opening ceremonies, in which case I suggest you start moving now!" Grabbing our forms we bolted out.
"Come on guys follow me!" Josh called back to us, I ran up next to him,
"Do you even know where you're going?" I asked him warily,
"Leave it to me!" Josh smirked and kept going. I slowed down a little with a 'yeah right' expression on my face. We went through stairs, hallways, escalators, and elevators.
"This is it I promise!" Josh said turning left and ran into a dead end. Zach and I finally caught up with him. I walked up to him and whomped Josh on the head,
"Baka! We're going around in circles!" I screamed at him. Zach picked up the floating paper that fell out of Josh's pocket,
"Apparently Josh sucks when it comes to reading maps," he commented.
"Oh shut up you two!" He yelled back. Zach went out of the hallway and turned right at the end of the other hallway. We followed him and found ourselves standing before humongous doors with the sounds of muffled chants coming from inside.
"This must be it!" Zach said looking at the paper, I walked up to Zach and patted him on the shoulder and whispered,
"We're giving you the map from now on." Josh shook off the subtle insult,
"Map schmap! We made it! That's what matters! Come on gang let's go!" All of us stood together as we pushed the doors open, unaware of the adventures that lie ahead.
Okay Woot woot!

Alrighty I know that since :iconjnkwarrior:'s fanfic had been put on a temporary hold, everyone has been inspired to create their own fanfic from their character's point of view.
Well I'm gonna follow along similar lines but I wanted to create a previous story. This is from Christina's perspective, but it's a story about how the three of them came to the academy and what they were like before, just to show the bonds between the Articuno Blue team :)

I apologize ahead of time if my writing is a little sloppy and if I get some of the Pokemon's characterstics mixed up. ^^;
if they could be pointed out I'd appreciate it :3
